Ambassador Mikami welcomed Mr. Karimata Atsushi, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan.

On 11 September, Ambassador Mikami welcomed Mr. Karimata Atsushi, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan. Mr. Karimata arrived in Cambodia on 27 August and, after the 14 days of self-quarantine, came to his new office.

The first international conference in his diplomatic life was the Ministerial Conference on the Rehabilitation of Cambodia held in Tokyo in 1992, but he has never been to Cambodia. Therefore, he is excited in seeing the country for the first time and working for the friendship between Japan and Cambodia. I look forward to visiting Cambodia’s beautiful cultural heritages as a co-chair of ICC-Angkor (International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Site of Angkor).
