Cambodian Sport Journalists Trained For SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023
Phnom Penh, The Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) in collaboration with the Japan Foundation Asia Centre, has organised a training course for Cambodian journalists to best cover the upcoming SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023 hosted by Cambodia.
The training titled “The Role of Sports Journalists from Japanese Experiences” was opened on Nov. 1 by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of Cambodia SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) and Mr. KARIMATA Atsushi, Minister, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia.
Some 100 Cambodian national sport journalists from concerned ministries, institutions, newspapers, magazines and web news joined the hybrid online and in-person training.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pen Bona, CCJ President, underlined the significance of the training, adding that it is the first course for the Cambodian sport journalists toward the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023.
He was positive that the training will further develop the capacity of Cambodian journalists to disseminate the events well to the world.
According to H.E. Vath Chamroeun, the training aimed to raise awareness on roles of sport journalists in reporting the sports to contribute to promoting the development of the sector in Cambodia.
He also called on sport journalists to respect the ethical standard and comprehend the values and principal of fair-play in sports.
The four-day training course is made under the support of CAMSOC and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC). by AKP
