Two More Million Doses Of U.S.-Donated Pfizer Arrive In Cambodia Tomorrow
Phnom Penh, Two more million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, donated by the U.S. to Cambodiia via the COVAX facility, will arrive at Phnom Penh International Airport’s VIP pavilion on May 3.
According to a press release of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh AKP received this afternoon, Minister of Health H.E. Professor Mam Bunheng, U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. W. Patrick Murphy, UNICEF, and World Health Organisation will attend the event.
This donation is part of the United States’ ongoing support for the people of Cambodia and demonstrates U.S. leadership in public health diplomacy, underlined the source.
Cambodia has so far received over 51 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines both through purchases and donations via bilateral and COVAX facility.
The number includes some 34,424,800 doses of Sinovac, 7,800,000 doses of Sinopharm, 5,165,500 doses of AstraZeneca, 2,489,730 doses of Pfizer, 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 188,160 doses of Moderna.
As of May 1, about 93.38 percent of the total 16 million Cambodian population have been inoculated against the COVID-19 pandemic with the basic doses.
