Cambodian Cabinet Ministers Discuss And Approve Five Important Documents

The weekly plenary cabinet meeting, held here this morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, discussed and approved two key draft laws.
According to a press release of the Office of the Council of Ministers on the outcomes of the meeting made public this evening, the two draft laws include the draft amendment to the constitution and the draft law on non-tax revenue management.
The draft amendment to the constitution, consisting of three articles, is aimed to guarantee that the top institutions of the nation, especially the executive body, which has the main mission of leading the general work of the state, run smoothly and sustainably in all circumstances; and to ensure the protection and maintenance of peace, social security, public order and political stability of the nation in all circumstances to be the foundation for the country’s development in all areas and the happiness of the Cambodian people.
For its part, the 12-chapter-and-101-article draft law on non-tax revenue management will ensure the effective, efficient, transparent, accountable and consistent management and collection of non-tax revenue for the national budget by defining the legal framework, mechanisms, rules and procedures of non-tax revenue collection management to contribute to the benefits of economic and social development in accordance with the Public Financial Management Reform Programme and the Revenue Mobilisation Strategy 2019-2023 of the Royal Government.
Besides, the cabinet ministers agreed to send to the legislative body for approval the Agreement between the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China on Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion and Avoidance, the Agreement between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the Elimination of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income, and the draft law on approval of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s accession to the Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). by AKP
