Cambodian PM To Deliver An Address To The United Nations General Assembly Next Week

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet will address the General Debate of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York with a focus on Cambodia’s socio-economic progress and the Cambodia’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Transformative Actions.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation made public this evening, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet is set to lead a high-level delegation to the General Debate of the 78th Session of UNGA in New York to be held from Sept. 19 to 26, 2023.
This year’s central theme is “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals Towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability for all”.
Accompanying the Prime Minister will be Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, key government officials, and leading business figures.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s address to the UNGA will center on three key dimensions: the global context, Cambodia’s socio-economic progress, and Cambodia’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Transformative Actions. Additionally, the Prime Minister will engage in bilateral meetings with the United Nations Secretary-General and various foreign dignitaries during his stay in New York.
On the sidelines of the said assembly, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea will participate in regional and international dialogues, including the 15th ASEAN-Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The Deputy Prime Minister has also scheduled separate bilateral meetings with counterparts from other nations.
